Sam was introduced to CP+R via one of his business colleagues. Sam’s goal was to improve his health for the benefit of his company and his family life. There was a history of cancer in his family and his cholesterol had crept up in recent years, so it was a good time to act to make the changes needed for a healthier and happier life.
Our action plan
Sam was overweight and had low fitness when joining CP+R. Our primary focus was on introducing consistent nutrition and exercise to help Sam lose the excess weight so he could begin to improve his fitness.
Using our 4 Pillar™ model, we set sustainable and consistent adaptations such as how much movement Sam was achieving moving each day, what he was eating, and introducing four exercise sessions per week, spread across cardiovascular and resistance training. It was important that our plan balanced nutritional intake and energy output so there was not a risk of overtraining or exhaustion, therefore these were both tracked closely through heart rate monitoring, food diaries and regular screening.
Sam’s results
Sam made some remarkable changes to his lifestyle which led to equally outstanding results. Over a period of 6 months Sam lost 15.9kg of body mass, moving from overweight to a normal weight for his height. What is more impressive is 6 months later Sam was able to not only sustain this but also lose a further 2kg.
